Intensives Program

The Kids Center’s Intensive Program is an intensive model of care which includes 3-hour therapy sessions, 5 days per week for 3 weeks by licensed physical and occupational therapists. Each child will be assigned to a therapist team (PT and OT) who will provide individual, one-hour sessions as well as a one-hour co-treat session every day of the 3-week session.

Our therapists providing the intensives have training and mentorship in the Neurodevelopmental Treatment (NDT) approach. Two of our current therapists are NDT certified in pediatrics. All therapists have multiple training in this approach as well as training in Dynamic Movement Intervention (DMI), use of the Therasuit and use of the Universal Exercise Unit.

An overarching, functional intensive goal is determined collaboratively with the therapists and the family. Daily task-specific goals are chosen for each session to progress towards the overall goal.   These goals are specific, attainable, functional, participation goals that allow for increased independence for the child.

  • NDT therapeutic approach
  • Dynamic Movement Intervention (DMI)
  • Universal Exercise Unit (UEU) also referred to as the cage.
