Amy Duthie, OTR/L received her Bachelor of Science in Occupational Therapy from Saint Louis University in 2001 and has worked in pediatrics her entire career including home health, school system, and outpatient settings. Amy joined the staff at Kids Center in 2003 and solidified her love of pediatrics and empowering children and their families to thrive. In recent years, as the Assistant Director of Program Services, Clinical Site Director, and now in her current role as Director of Program Services, she has funneled her passion, efforts, and skills to advance the Kids Center into the future in the evolving and challenging world of today’s healthcare landscape leading with compassion and innovation to make a difference in the lives of children with special needs.
Amy has training in NDT (neuro-developmental treatment), sensory integration, primitive reflexes, neurodiversity-affirming practice, the Alert program, and the SOS (Sequential-Oral-Sensory) approach to feeding therapy. She holds training certifications for Interactive Metronome, Advanced Therapeutic Listening, iLs (Integrated Listening Systems), DPAMs (deep physical agent modalities), and Handwriting Without Tears (Level 1 certified). At Kids Center, she has developed various therapeutic programs, including handwriting camps, physical exercise camps, and social skills groups. Amy’s current clinical role as an occupational therapist involves leading the group therapy programs at Kids Center which target functional interpersonal and social-emotional skills. She started the Kids Center Teen Social Club in 2022.
Amy is a native Louisvillian, a graduate of Sacred Heart Academy, a wife, and a mother of four. Her children keep her very busy. She is a member of Impact 100 Louisville and active in her parish, Holy Spirit Catholic Church. She enjoys spending time with family and friends, quiet morning coffees, exercising, dancing, laughing, and sunsets.
